Description

Foundayo™ (orforglipron) is a new  for adults with obesity, or overweight with weight-related medical problems. When used alongside a reduced calorie diet and increased physical activity, Foundayo has been clinically proven to help aid weight loss. Taken once a day as an oral tablet, Foundayo acts in the same way as other GLP-1 medications. It mimics the natural GLP-1 hormone to reduce appetite. It is not a peptide-based, allowing for easier, more flexible formulation. In studies, participants on the highest dose experienced an average weight loss of 12% of their body weight, or roughly 27 pounds over 72 weeks.

 

Tablets may suit people who:

Warnings

Foundayo tablets are not suitable for everyone.

 

You should not take Foundayo tablets if:

 

  • you're allergic to semaglutide or any of the other listed ingredients

  • you've previously had a serious allergic reaction to semaglutide or any of the ingredients in Foundayo

  • you or a close family member has ever had medullary thyroid carcinoma (MTC), a type of thyroid cancer

  • you have multiple endocrine neoplasia syndrome type 2 (MEN 2)

 

Please tell us before starting treatment if you:

 

  • have or have had problems with your pancreas or kidneys

  • have type 2 diabetes with a history of diabetic retinopathy

  • are due to have surgery or a procedure involving anaesthesia

  • are pregnant or planning to become pregnant. Foundayo may harm your unborn baby, so you should stop taking it at least two months before trying to conceive

  • are breastfeeding or planning to breastfeed. Breastfeeding isn't recommended while taking Wegovy pills

 

Tell us about all medications you take, including prescription medicines, over-the-counter treatments, vitamins and supplements. Foundayo can affect how some medicines work, and some medicines can affect how Foundayo works.

This is especially important if you take diabetes medications like insulin or sulfonylureas, as using Foundayo alongside these treatments increases your risk of hypoglycaemia.

Directions

How to use:

  • Take one tablet first thing in the morning.
  • You can take before or after food.
  • Swallow the tablet whole with no more than 120 ml of plain water.
  • Wait at least 30 minutes before taking other oral medicines.
  • Do not crush, split or chew the tablet.
  • Try to take it at the same time every day.
  • Follow the dose escalation schedule provided by your doctor.

Side Effects

Foundayo has been studied in a large clinical programme involving more than 11,000 patients across several Phase 3 trials. Throughout, it's shown a consistent safety profile.

 

The study also carefully monitored liver safety, with no new safety concerns identified.

Overall, the findings suggest that Foundayo is generally well-tolerated when used as prescribed and monitored by a healthcare professional. However, like all prescription medicines, it may not be suitable for everyone.

Foundayo, like any medication introduced to your body, may cause side effects whilst your body adjusts to it. Some side effects may be positive ones (e.g. multiple benefits from the medication) whilst some side effects may be negative (e.g. nausea).

Some people get mild side effects, such as headaches, nausea, dry mouth or tiredness. These negative side effects are generally mild and are transient - which means they will go after a few days once your body has adjusted.

Everyone is different. You may not experience any side effects, you may experience one side effect or several side effects.

 

Common Side Effects:

  • dizziness

  • headaches

  • fast pulse

  • low blood pressure

  • bloating

  • burping

  • acid reflux or heartburn

  • gas (flatulence)

  • gallstones

  • hair loss

  • feeling tired (fatigue)

  • unusual sense of taste reported

  • unpleasant and abnormal feeling when touched

Adverse Effects:

Adverse effects are rare but they are something you should be aware of.

Adverse effects may include:

​

  • Palpitations / Fast Heart Rate

  • Pancreatitis: Severe, persistent stomach or abdominal pain that won't go away.

  • Hypoglycaemia: Symptoms of low blood sugar, like dizziness, shaking, or confusion.

  • Changes in vision (particularly if you have type 2 diabetes).

  • Gallbladder problems: Abdominal pain, fever, or yellowing of the skin or eyes.

Anaphylaxis:

There have been no documented cases of an anaphylactic reaction to Foundayo or it's active ingredient, Orforglipron but as this is a new medication being introduced to your body, we want to make you aware of the possible signs of anaphylaxis.

If you experience swelling of the lips/tongue/throat, difficulty breathing, tightness in the chest, a severe rash or severe itching, discontinue use immediately and call 999.

FAQs

How does Foundayo work?

The active ingredient in Foundayo is called orforglipron. Much like Wegovy, Saxenda, Ozempic and Rybelsus, Foundayo works by mimicking a natural hormone already found in your body - the Glucagon Like Peptide-1.

 

This medication acts as a Receptor Agonist, recreating the impact of the GLP-1 in your body. It acts on areas of the brain involved in appetite control, in addition to affecting the digestive system. By doing this, it can help to:

 

  • reduce your appetite

  • make you feel fuller after meals, even as you eat smaller portions

  • slow how quickly the stomach empties, keeping you satisfied for longer

  • reduce food noise, making it easier to avoid snacking between meals

 

Most GLP-1 medicines are peptide-based, meaning the digestive system breaks them down before they can work, which is why most need to be injected. The Wegovy pill requires you to fast to ensure it’s absorbed properly.

 

Orforglipron is different. It's a small molecule that's designed to survive digestion and be absorbed through the gut, so it's able to be taken with or without food or drink, at your convenience.

 

What dose of Foundayo would I need?

 

 
 

To allow your body to get used to the medicine and have the best chance for long-term success, you should follow the titratrion regime recommended by Eli Lilly & NICE. This would involve gently increasing your dosage schedule as instructed.

 

This gives your body time to adjust to the medicine, helping to reduce the chance of side effects.

 

Your dosing schedule may look something like this:

 

  • Month 1: 0.8mg pill once a day

  • Month 2: 2.5mg pill once a day

  • Month 3: 5.5mg pill once a day

  • Month 4: 9mg pill once a day

  • Month 5: 14.5mg pill once a day

  • Month 6 onwards: 17.2mg pill once a day

Usually, you’ll start with a dose of 0.8 mg of Foundayo, which will increase every four weeks (or as advised and if suitable for you) until you reach your ideal maintenance dose. The maintenance dose could between 5.5mg and 17.2mg.

 

If you have previously used Foundayo within the past 3 months and wish to order a higher dose than the starting dose of 0.8 mg, we will require proof of previous usage uploaded via our Health Form or sent to us via email.

 
 

Remember, not everyone needs the highest dose of Foundayo to achieve meaningful weight loss. A lower dose might work better for you, especially if you're still losing weight and managing any side effects well.

 

Your prescriber will work with you to decide if moving up (or even coming back down!) is the best option for you and your weight loss journey.

 

How do I store Foundayo?

 

 

  • Store at room temperature
